Anil Kumar Rastogi is an unique combination of Art, Science and Social work

as an actor – he is the Senior Most and probably the ONLY Actor in the Country performing in all four forms of histrionic expressions viz Theater, Radio, TV and Films still at the age of 82+.
National and State Awards- He is recipient of 2 National and 6 State awards and more than 60 awards by regional,private organizations,Institutions and media, National awards include-

1.Highest award of Govt. of India in the field of Performing Arts, Sangeet Natak Academy Award (2023) conferred by Hon’ble President of India.

2. As Scientist ,Fellow of National Academy of Sciences ( 1999 ).
State awards include : 1. Bharat Ratan Atal Urdu Samman of UP Urdu Academy ( 2024 )

2. Life Time achievement Award of Doordarshan Uttar Pradesh (2024).

3. Highest Award of MP Govt, the Kalidas Samman ( 2019).

4. Highest award of UP Govt.Yash Bharti (2016)

5. Ratan Sadasya (Fellow) of UP Sangeet Natak Academy (2007) and

6. UP Sangeet Natak Academy award (1984). Besides, he has received more than 65 awards from Academic and other institutions, private organization and media. ( List given as AWARDS )
As Actor-Acting in Theater for last 64 , on Radio for 54, on TV for 49, and in Films for 39 years.

• On Stage gave more than 950 performances of 100 plays all over the country, mostly as Protagonist, Participated in more than 75 State , National and International festivals and Represented UP in four states of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh , Rajasthan and Karnataka.

Is leading one of the oldest amateur theatre group of country Darpan (estd 1961) for last 47 years as Secretary/General Secretary.
Has acted with most eminent theatre directors of country like BV Karanth, Ravi Baswani, Bansi Kaul, Raj Bisaria, Ranjit Kapoor, Urmil Kumr Thapliyal, Suryamohan Kulshreshtha and others.
On Radio and TV ”A” grade artist and has participated in more than 250 radio plays, several Scientific and Urdu programs and more than 500 episodes of different TV serials and programs.
On OTTs participated in 14 Web series, 22 TV Commercials and more than 75 films.

Serial UDAAN of DD1 from 1989-92: as Sr Suptd of Police and mentor of Protagonist.
Film ISHAQZADE of Yashraj Films 2012: acted as politician Grand father of Arjun Kapoor.
Film MUKTIBHAWAN 2017: acted as Manager of Muktibhawan, film won 30 International and 3 National awards, shown in more than 50 countries, ran in Japan for more than 150 days.
Marathi short film AATHWAN 2017 written and directed by Renuka Shahane: acted as lead character of Alzheimer patient.( Film got BEST FILM Award in its premier at Nashik International Film Festival in 2016 ) .
Web series ASHRAM of Prakash Jha 2022 : Portrayed character of Chief Minister in all Seasons .Series had maximum viewing from audience.
Short film on environment SAMBANDH (1992): Portrayed role of Jungle Contractor. Film got National Award.
Plays like Aakhiri Vasant, Swaha, Harishchannar Ki Ladai ( all staged in Bharat Rang Mahotsav of NSD), Panchi Jaa Panchi Aa ( more than 400 shows), Daddy , A View From The Bridge, Inspector General, Yehoodi Ki Ladki, Fando and Lis, Bare Foot in Athens, Andha Yug, Kanyadaan etc staged in different parts of the country.

as scientist – He has retired from Central Drug Research Institute in 2003 as Scientist in Director’s grade and Head of Biochemistry Division.
CDRI has put his name in the list of 28 ACCOMPLISHED aLUMNI during 1951-2021.
Department of Biochemistry, Lucknow University has included his name in the list of scholars of Wall Of Fame.
Fellow of National Academy of Sciences of India (1999).
Has published around 100 research papers in various International and National Journal, many in good impact factor journals.
Published a Monograph on Diabetes for Indian Council of Medical Research.
Visited two times to Germany under Indo- German Academic Exchange program and four times to Denmark as co-coordinator of a project on Diabetes with Novo Nordisk, Denmark .
Presented many research papers in meetings and conferences held at different places in the country.
Guided many Ph.D, MD and MDS students of CDRI and KGMU.
Has been chairman/ member of many scientific and administrative committees.
Attended a short term course at Administrative Staff College on Management of R & D Systems for CSIR Scientists.
as a social worker – He is President of two philanthropic organizations Hari Om Sewa Kendra and Laxmi Narayan Bhagwati Trust. The first one provides free medicines, injections, blood to destitute and poor patients admitted to King George Medical University and food, clothes and stay place to their attendants for last 25 years.Organization also provides free wheel chairs, stretchers, dialysis kits, streptokinase injections to different wards of KGMU as and when needed.Also provides transport to carry patients from OPD and Trauma Center to wards and discharged poor patients and dead bodies to their destination.
Organizes blood donation camps in different organizations, eye camps and medical camps in remote areas for benefit of local residents.
Laxmi Narayan Bhagwati Trust runs an educational institution up tp class 12 ,LNB Vidya Mandir and helps college through infrastructure facilities and other requirements of teachers and students through running job oriented courses.
